Carpenter - Panelization

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Carpenters to join our panelization team. The ideal candidate will focus on constructing, assembling, and installing prefabricated wall, floor, and roof panels according to specifications and blueprints. This role requires precision, familiarity with panelized construction methods, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet project standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  •  Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans specific to panelized construction to determine materials, specifications, and layout.
  • Panel Assembly: Measure, cut, and assemble wood or metal components for prefabricated panels (walls, floors, and roofs) in a controlled environment, ensuring structural integrity and quality.
  • Installation: Assist in the installation of prefabricated panels on job sites, aligning and securing them according to project requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect completed panels for accuracy, durability, and adherence to quality standards before shipment and installation.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate machinery and power tools specific to panel construction, including saws, drills, nail guns, and other relevant tools.
  • Material Handling: Select, measure, and prepare materials to optimize efficiency, minimize waste, and adhere to budgetary and project guidelines.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow OSHA regulations and site-specific safety protocols, maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.

Requirements

  •  Experience: Previous experience in carpentry or panelized construction (minimum 2-4 years preferred).
  • Skills: Proficient in using woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools specific to panelization.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of panelized building techniques, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Physical Ability: Able to work on ladders, handle large panel components, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of carpentry apprenticeship or vocational training in panelization or prefabrication preferred.
  • Detail Orientation: High attention to detail for accurate measurement, alignment, and quality assurance.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
